Overcast and coolish weather about 17 Celcius. Not much wind to start but it came up on the back 9. We were in carts.
⭐ Overall Rating
Thoroughly enjoyable course in excellent conditions and when you can get deals like we managed too it is an exceptional round. A challenging but fair course, plenty of undulation, narrow in some places, good landing zones in others, largish greens with plenty of testing pin placements, magnificent scenery, great setting and a wonderfully maintained golf course.

| Bunker Condition | ⭐⭐⭐☆ (7.5/10) | Sadly some of the bunker were a little bare. I guess I shouldn't be in them. A few areas where they were not as well raked by previous players. |

The layout, the challenge, the location and the condition are all top-notch and I love it every time I play here.
📝 THE REVIEW
First Impressions & Standout Features
Driving into the driveway you feel like you are arriving somewhere special. You immediately see the gambling par 3 hole and then a glimpse of the 12th on the right and later the 11th on the left and they look stunning. Green green fairways ladened with bunkers winding through the native trees, the odd dwelling - all discretely located within the grounds and then the resort itself which is a very impressive looking building welcome you to this place.
Standout features would be the conditioning of the facility and the way it winds through the natural environment. For much of the round you can only really see the hole that you are playing on.
Best Holes or Memorable Moments
We teed off on hole 10 and my birdie to start was definitely a memorable moment. The tee shot and second shot on hole 12 make it a favourite hole and then you get to 14 and 15 where the views from the tee boxes of the ocean in the background are spectacular.
I would have to say that the par 5 hole # 2 for some reason is a favourite of mine as is the par 3 16th when played from the black tees, feels a little like the 8th next door at the National's Old Course when viewed from the black tee box.
The challenge of the 7th over the water into the wind and the setting around this is also pleasing to the eye. The tiered green on hole 6 where is feels like it has 5 tiers and goes on forever make this hole fun to play.
💬 General comments or suggestions
The only thing I would say here relates to comments above regarding the clubhouse. Apart from that, if you haven't played here, you should. It is well worth the drive.
